ARCS recognizes the growing issue of equal pay in the cultural heritage sector and believes all collections professionals deserve equal pay for equal work. To help tackle this issue, ARCS Advocacy Committee has created a guide with simple steps institutions can take to help increase pay equity and transparency.

European Registrars Conference Report
This past November, Board member Sebastián Encina attended the European Registrar’s Conference (ERC) in Rome, Italy. Sebastián’s goal was to represent ARCS and forge new relationships with our European colleagues. ARCS has been looking to collaborate more with the European Registrars Conference participants and the respective country registrars organizations, and this was our chance to begin a formal connection.
Sebastián was able to meet with the chairs of the country organizations that meet as the European Registrars Group (ERG). At that meeting, both parties shared their desire to collaborate on a variety of topics, including hosting webinars and workshops, creating resources and white papers, and providing more for our members. We identified one or two subject matters that we will explore, such as climate change and the general facility report. Over the coming year, we will meet to explore how these collaborations will be carried out.
At the conclusion of ERC 2024, it was announced that ERC 2026 will be held in Berlin, Germany. Plans are already underway to invite a representative from the ERC 2026 committee to ARCS 2025 in St. Louis, and for ARCS to continue this path to richer partnerships.
