ARCS is pleased to welcome Courtney Becraft to our Board of Directors. Per the ARCS bylaws, if there is a vacancy on the Board of Directors, a new board member may be voted on by the current sitting board members in order to fill the vacancy.
Courtney was voted in by our current sitting board members and we are excited about the fresh perspectives and new energy she brings. Courtney has served ARCS as the Educational Programming Committee's Chair for many years, and brings that experience and drive with her to the Board.
The Board of Directors also wishes to thank Adriane Tafoya for her nearly 6 years of service on the Board. Adriane has been an integral part of ARCS, offering her time, expertise, and passion-specifically the Board's IDEA work. Her contributions have significantly advanced our mission, and her presence will be deeply missed. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Adriane for her dedication and wish her all the best in her amazing role.

This intriguing story delves into the motivations behind the crime and the lucrative market for exotic feathers.

Fall Internships Announcement
ARCS is committed to advocating for paid internships in an industry that remains inaccessible to many. Once again for Fall 2024, ARCS will be offering a $1,000 stipend plus an annual membership to applicants pursuing internships in registration and/or collections management. Candidates are asked to submit their application materials by September 22, 2024 and awardees will be notified by early October 2024. Applicants should already have been accepted into an unpaid internship program and will be asked to submit a letter of support from their internship supervisor with their application materials. Applicants in internships with a limited stipend can also apply but those in unpaid internship programs will be prioritized.
