Anisha Gupta
Art Conservator
PhD student in Preservation Studies | University of Delaware
Anisha Gupta is a cultural heritage conservator, educator, and doctoral candidate at the University of Delaware. Her research is centered on community-driven conservation, where she studies the conservation needs and priorities of everyday people and community groups. Her goal is to establish a collections care framework that is inherently decolonizing, anti-racist, and justice-centered, and make collections care information accessible to all. Anisha is a leader in advocating for equity and accessibility in the field. She served as the ARCS representative for the 2020 task force to revise the Code of Ethics for Collections Professionals to create a broad and inclusive document. Anisha also served as the co-chair of the American Institute for Conservation (AIC)’s Equity & Inclusion Committee where she spearheaded initiatives focused on systemic and cultural change. In 2022, she was awarded the Gettens Award for Outstanding Service to AIC.

Hannah Turner is an assistant professor and settler of German/Norwegian descent at the School of Information at the University of British Columbia. As a critical information studies and museum studies scholar working at the intersection of material culture and technology, her work examines the colonial legacies of data and documentation practices in museums. Her research is part historical and part collaborative, and has involved work with museum institutions, artists, and communities, particularly around themes of classification, documentation, and repair.
